The Summer of Color 2 has begun after a year-long wait. Last year I had so much fun participating (I made little dress quilts for the color challenges last year), so of course I have to participate this year…you know how I LOVE color challenges.
This year, the Summer of Color challenges are going to be ice cream flavors, and the first challenge was rainbow sherbet…this was the inspiration photo:
Now anyone who knows me, knows how much I love ice cream! It's practically it's own food group…
And this is my piece…I created this digitally in Photoshop…
Anyone can particpate in the challenge…click here for the details.
As always, thanks for stopping by…and be sure to stop by tomorrow…I have some news and a surprise!
Love and Toodles!
WOW and that was all digital? Beautiful…plus I post that quote in my FB page last week! π

I think your digital collage is really sweet, and clever I’ve never quite worked out how people make them lol
x x x
it’s really the same as doing it in “real” life…layers…layers…layers…the great thing about doing digital art is that I can “undo” all my mistakes and parts I don’t like…but trust me, it’s taken me years to get this far! I’m a slow learner! Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs!
xo!
Love your digital art. I really need to learn how to do that! Come by for a little giveaway ending June 12

Ooh, I love it – I love the softer colours and the ice-cream works so well against that lovely background – beautiful work.

i’m amazed at what people can do digitally. and i love the way you’ve incorporated lettering into your art. great quote.
(and do you mean ice cream ISN’T it’s own food group?) π
LOL Molly! Why yes…ice cream IS it’s own food group! So is chocolate! Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate it! Hugs!
That is amazing… I am not very adept at digital art, but this is so beautifully done it makes me want to get in and get better at it… sorry I am so late getting here and looking forward to what you create for week two…xx
Thank you Tracey! It’s only been the past couple of years that I’ve stepped up and made the effort to get better with Photoshop and Illustrator. Before that, I only used PS for editing photos (barely) and to make watermarks, and that took me forever! The great thing about PS is that if you remember to make new layers for everything, you can turn them off and on and delete if something doesn’t work…I used many, many layers for this piece…I also use the “eraser” if one layer is too heavy looking…just practice…I’m a member of Lynda.com and they have tons of videos to learn from…best wishes! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs!
Perfect! You make digital look easy!! I am not often tempted to try it myself but…
Hi Sandi! You must try it! I’m loving it…Jessica Sprague has some great courses at a reasonable price…I attended art school and studied graphic design, and much of what I learned was digital…she teaches some great techniques that makes it so much easier! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs!
Oh that really is lovely! Looks good enough to eat!
nice. like this so much!
