Well, so much for a new blog entry each day…but this is an improvement—two blog entries in one week is a huge improvement…okay, maybe huge is too strong a word, but nonetheless…
As I was preparing to attend the annual Stampin’ Up!® convention, I really wanted to just play with my new “stuff” from the new Fall-Winter Collection© 2007 catalog. There are so many toys, I mean “tools” to “work” with, including one of our newest punches, the scallop circle, so I took some time out to work up another card.
For this one I used Basic Black cardstock for the base, and layered it with Blue Bayou (one of our six new In-Colors®). I stamped the Blue Bayou with Classic Basic Black ink using the new Tres Chic© background stamp. I then cut a strip of Basic Black cardstock using a scalloped edge, ran it through the crimper, and mounted it using silver brads. I stamped a scalloped flower from Ginormous Flower© on River Rock cardstock (another new In-Color®) using Classic Blue Bayou ink and, and then inked the edges with Blue Bayou ink and a sponge dauber. I stamped an image from one of our new level 2 hostess sets (In the Spotlight©) in Blue Bayou ink on River Rock cardstock, punched it out using our new scallop circle punch, and used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write® marker on one of the center circles for contrast. I then mounted the punched shape on top of the stamped image using a Stampin’ Dimensional®, and mounted that piece on Basic Black cardstock. This card was very easy to stamp, and I love how it turned out.
