This week’s challenge was a color combination challenge–we were to use Pumpkin, Olive, Brocade Blue, and Chocolate Chip. We could also use white, vanilla, or confetti as a neutral.
I used Chocolate Chip for the background, and layered it with a piece of Basic Grey’s "Cultured" patterned paper from the Mellow collection. I cut paisley shapes from Pumpkin Pie, Brocade Blue, and Old Olive with Nestabilities scallop paisley dies. I then stamped them with SU!®‘s Paisley background stamp, and inked the edges of all with Chocolate Chip Classic ink. I sprayed silk flowers with adhesive and sprinkled them with fine gold glitter, and the flower centers are vintage brads. The sentiments are from JustRite self-inking stamps.
I love doing these challenges for a couple of reasons: 1) I don’t have to choose "what" I’m going to make, and 2) they make me think. I do like getting ideas from other paper artists, but I also love the challenge of having to come up with my own interpetation.
Thanks for looking!!!
