This is my February 2012 Creative Color Challenge from Louise Gale's monthly blog challenge (louisegale.com). The challenge for this month was lavender and green…two of my favorite colors. She always gives us the color color inspiration, which I love:
Note that she also gives the color codes which is perfect for me since I complete my challenge in Photoshop. This is also the same dress and pinafore that I'm using in my Soar journal this year as well. The quote is from Lesson 2 (for more info about Soar, it's a free study group for women on my Ning group at http://anitavanhal.ning.com).
The most challenging thing for me is cleaning up a pattern in Photoship to use as a template. The rest is so much fun because I really enjoying the creative process now that I've learned a lot more about using the program in school. And color is what I enjoy most about creating. Color is what inspires me. It's super easy when I can use colors that I love.
Check out the other participants on Louise's blog here.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Hugs and Toodles!
I’ve just found you through the Color Challenge and absolutely love your piece! You’ve inspired me to continue learning Photoshop!
Hi Lorinda! Good…and thank you! A few years ago it took me forever just to learn to use it well enough to make a watermark…I still have SO much more to learn, but I have to say that now I’m loving it! I started to use Photoshop for designing when I enrolled in art school and we usually have the option to use Photoshop or Illustrator (or both)…I love all that Illustrator can do but it’s more complicated for me and right now it just goes quicker for me to use Photoshop…you can buy and use all kinds of texture tools (for glitter too), brushes, etc., so that makes the design process quicker and more fun…thanks for stopping by! Hugs!
This is a super piece – so colourful and bright. Awesome background and I especially love the way the street map design in the dress marries into the text about “finding” the magic – very clever!
Thank you Tamara! And thank you for stopping by!
Anita, I am so happy to meet you via The Color Challenge. This piece is really adorable. Love the words on top of the map in the dress.
Thank you Lori! I was pleased to “meet” you as well!
I’m always in awe of artists who can create so well in Photoshop – lovely work! I’m just lucky I can open up the program – ha!! I’m looking forward to your next “challenge” pieces.
Thank you Valerie! All I can say is that maybe for some it comes easy, but not so for me…I’ve had to work at it, but I must say that finally I’m actually having fun with it! Thank you for stopping by!
I LOVE your dress and the message within it! Fabulous :))
