This week’s Blogger’s Challenge is "Inspired by….pick something – say a pattern in a piece of clothing, colors in a rug. Some design that inspires you to create a card or project." This is one of my favorite challenges because there is so much that inspires me – but what most inspires me is vintage and shabby chic. Since Valentine’s Day is almost right around the corner, I’m currently inspired by vintage valentines, especially since I just received a cache of really cool "stuff" from Daisy D (NEW Maybe Baby Valentine Card Die Cuts). Since I had scraps of Stampin’ Up!®‘s Orchid Opulence from last week’s challenge still on my table after my flurry of trying to get ready to go to my daughter’s, I decided to use that with a vintage valentine and printed polka dot paper from Daisy D (how cute is this little guy!).
All the edges of the card stock and paper were inked with Orchid Opulence; I used a sponge dauber- probably one of my most used "tools." I’ve worn out several recently. I felt the Orchid Opulence ink on the Whisper White card stock was just too "purple" by itself, so I toned it down a bit with White craft ink (both Stampin’ Up!®). I layered the polka dot paper on the Whisper White card stock. The vintage valentine was layered on Orchid Opulence card stock. The buttons were adhered with Stampin’ Up!®‘s Crystal Effects.
The sentiment was stamped on Orchid Opulence card stock with Whisper White Craft ink, and that was layered on a scrap of the polka dot printed paper.
