This week’s Bloggers Challenge was a color combination, which is always interesting since they’re never combinations I would choose. We were to use Purely Pomegranate (one of this year’s In Colors), Brilliant Blue, and Old Olive. I pulled out my patterned paper, cause that always makes color combos easier for me. I started to panic when my old standby, Basic Grey, wasn’t coming through for me! Come on, those funky color combos always work! NOT!
So, I saw a sorely neglected DCWV mat stack (Glitter Stack) in the corner of my paper pad basket, and thought to myself, "uumm, maybe…". Sure enough-I found a print that was "close enough" and went to work. Patterned paper always inspires me. I stamped Old Olive with Purely Pomegranate Classic ink® using one of the scallop stamps from the So Many Scallop stamp set (one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration sets!), and punched it out with my scallop punch (sound familiar? yes, I did that yesterday too…). I used the corner rounder punch for the Old Olive card stock and DCWV print, and layered them. I added some Ice Stickles to the Purely Pomegranate circle that I used a Nestibilities circle die to cut, and also to the stamped image. A Purely Pomegranate double-stitched ribbon bow and final assembly, and another Bloggers Challenge conquered!
What a great card. Funny, but I finished my card for next week using a piece of patterned paper from that same DCWV Glitter stack…lol. Your scalloped circle and all the embellishment around it are wonderful!
What a beautiful card! I love all the glitter on the greeting! Great job this week! {SMILES}
