This week, Lisa Somerville’s Blogger’s Challenge is "Inspired by…", so I’m taking that to mean anything that inspires us to stamp. I love graphics, especially those with flourishes and swirls. Some of my favorites are by American Greetings. I love their wallpapers (for my computer, not my walls-LOL), and yesterday when I was checking out some of their new ones, I found "Winter Berries." I really like the colors, and they reminded me of some Basic Grey paper I have in the "Perhaps" collection. I previously used some of these papers to cover white wood letters spelling C-R-E-A-T-E. I have yet to actually hang them, but I digress…that’s another topic…
For this week’s challenge I used simple materials but they’re big on looks. I only used one stamp, the Tres Chic background on two of the "Perhaps" papers using Dark Peony Colorbox Fluid chalk ink (cause I LOVE the color), tore one of them in a strip (gray) and the other (pink) punched with the scallop circle punch. I inked the edges of my card stock and papers using a sponge with Classic Basic Gray ink.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach two half pearls from SU!®‘s Pretties Kit, and adorned the card with a piece of striped organdy ribbon. I also added a little bling by "coloring" over some of the design with ice glitter glue.
