This month's Creative Color Challenge is Mustard Yellow:
I decided to create a new dress and patterns in Photoshop, so again this is all digital…I used the color picker to select the colors, and then creating the patterns in layers allowed me to incorporate all the colors in Louise's suggested color palette. Again, I don't know that these would be colors I'd normally choose (except maybe for the bright yellow) but these challenges are so much fun and allow me to step outside my creative comfort zone a bit…I really did find the colors worked well together and gave me a fun palette to work with…but then I do like "real" mustard…especially on corn dogs! The light gray was a great neutral to use too!

Such a cute interpretation of this challenge! When I was looking for inspiration, I saw lots of different clothing items in these colors but it never occurred to me to do something like what you’ve done. Very creative!

This is a WONDERFUL piece and so great that you used all the colors. I am inspired by you to try and create one digitally soon as I am currently learning CS6! Maybe I’ll give it a go for our May challenge. Now that will be an extra challenge for me!

Thank you Louise! I don’t have CS6 (yet) but have CS5…are you going to be learning Illustrator too? That’s my big goal…as a designer, I think it will offer a lot more options and possibilities…I’ve used it a bit but it’s quite different than Photoshop.
