5 Things Friday – Comedic Actors

Okay, I've been slacking!  I know this isn't Friday, and I've missed several…but here is my random list of 5 things…the theme for this week…comedic actors…so here they are, in no particular order!

  1. John Candy

  2. Chris Farley

  3. Steve Martin

  4. Steve Carell

  5. Chevy Chase
Some of my favorite movies/TV shows…obviously Saturday Night Live; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; National Lampoon's Vacation and Christmas Vacation; Uncle Buck, Tommy Boy, The Great Outdoors, The Office…in my family every Thanksgiving we have a tradition, and no, it's  not watching Planes, Trains, and Automobiles…no…we watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  OMG…I remember the first time watching it…I thought I'd split a gut!
In the early days of Saturday Night Live, my sisters and my only brother and I would often joke and crack one-liners from the sketches…one of our favorites…"Stunt Baby."  I have no idea who was in that particular sketch, but it was the very early days with Jane Curtain, Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, an occasional visit from Steve Martin…OMG…the memories!
I've always been a movie buff, and at one time owned a video rental store…it was a dream job!  All my children are movie buffs as well…some of my best memories have been enjoying a movie with my family…the first time I saw Planes, Trains, and Automobiles was with my sister Nancy…Dirty Dancing with my sister Gail…Roadhouse and The Three Witches of Eastwick with my sister Denise…the first movie I ever attended with my husband Chris was Private Benjamin…watching and enjoying movies is a way I have of marking time…and creating memories…the first movie my youngest granddaughter Kristen saw was when we took her to see Ice Age…she sat with her "kid's snack pack" on her lap…popcorn, pop, and candy in a cute little cardboard tray, almost untouched for about 30 minutes…her mouth literally hung open when the movie began…I don't know which was more enjoyable, the movie or her reaction, but it definitely is a favorite memory…
